NEW DISCOVERIES & THE LUXURY OF TIME
From a new Australian opening to why it pays to plan New Zealand early - and whether two countries really do fit into one trip - here are a few things I’ve been talking about with clients lately.
Each month, I’ll be sharing what’s new and noteworthy, some useful travel advice, and a little of what we’ve learned from planning journeys across this part of the world.
Another reason to put Kangaroo Island on the list
As if the incredible wildlife, farm-to-table dining and breathtaking scenery weren’t enough, Kangaroo Island will soon have a world-class golf course to add to the mix. The Cliffs Kangaroo Island is opening later this year and, for the golf lovers out there, it’s definitely one for the must-play list.
Pair a round here with a luxury boutique stay and private touring with Exceptional Kangaroo Island, and you have a pretty special few days on the island.
A timely reminder: book New Zealand early
Many travellers don’t realise how limited luxury accommodation can be in some of New Zealand’s most spectacular locations. Franz Josef is a great example. We have two favourites for our luxury travellers, both with limited rooms that can fill up a year in advance. It’s a similar story in Aoraki/Mount Cook, while Abel Tasman is hugely popular with international visitors and Kiwis alike.
My advice? If New Zealand is on your bucket list, start planning early. You’ll have far more choice when it comes to creating the trip you really want.
And one thing I’m often asked…
“Can I include Australia and New Zealand in a two-week trip?”
Can you? Yes. Would I recommend it? No!
There’s more than enough to fill two weeks in New Zealand - we could easily fill a month and still not see it all. And Australia is roughly the size of the USA; it deserves more than a quick visit tacked onto another trip.
Let us help you plan one first. Then come back for seconds!
As always, if anything here has sparked a question, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always happy to help.
